This serene town is home to one of the 12 revered Jyotirlingas, the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, and holds significance as a prominent pilgrimage site among Hindus
The main temple shrine of Omkareshwar, is mounted on an island. The word Omkareshwar translates to ‘The Lord of Omkara or The Om Sound’. Also known as the Omkar Mandhata temple, Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga displays a beautiful North Indian architectural style adorned with a Shikhar (dome) made by stacking layers of stone.
Start with the Bhasma Aarti at Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, then visit Harsiddhi Mata Temple and Ram Ghat for Shipra Aarti. Explore Kal Bhairav Temple, Chintaman Ganesh Temple, and Sandipani Ashram. Visit Mangalnath Temple before witnessing the evening aarti at Mahakaleshwar.
